Organizers declared Summer Fest a success before everyone had even arrived at the new Weaver-Lions Park on Main Street. The park was a beehive of activity as people gathered for a Summer Feast of Bratburgers and frybread served up by the Edgeley Lions. Gerald Mathern said “This is what I envisioned when I built the gazebo!” At one point he counted 300 adults in the crowd and more came after that. Edgeley Lions were surprised when they ran out of food! They had enough meat to serve 225. Jean Ness cooked frybread until there was no more! Children were captivated by the balloon animals and relished both the watermelon and ice cream. Musical entertainment appealed to a wide range of people with a variety of gospel songs by the Prairie Harmony Singers. After their set the Spirit Wood Creek provided the sounds of bluegrass. Mark your calendars - the next Summer Fest will be Wed., July 26th. Some changes will be made, including different entertainment.
